At one point, Seth Rogen was a relative unknown who was trying to make his way into the stand-up scene in Canada. Eventually, Rogen landed acting jobs that included the shows “Freaks and Geeks” and “Undeclared”. Looking back, those shows were probably cancelled much too early, and Rogen switched gears to being a comedy writer.
Then, producer and director Judd Apatow pushed Rogen into film acting, allowing him to land breakout roles in films such as “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” and “Knocked Up”. At the time, Rogen wasn’t known for wearing glasses too regularly, but that’s changed over the years. Even in the film “Pineapple Express” in which Rogen wasn’t wearing glasses, there was still a moment where a police officer saw his mugshot and noted that he looked better wearing specs.
Since then, seeing Rogen without glasses in his movie roles has been pretty rare outside of roles such as “The Green Hornet”. Now one of the biggest names in comedy, and still only 36 years old, Rogen has starred in movies such as “The Disaster Artist” in the past year and has upcoming roles in films like “Newsflash”, “Flarsky” and “The Lion King”.
Fans of Rogen have been pretty adamant about him wearing glasses in his films, as perhaps no other celebrity these days is more beloved with glasses. There’s been a few films where we’ve seen a non-bespectacled Rogen, but it’s becoming increasingly rare. In his recent films that have included “Neighbors”, “The Interview” and “This is the End”, Rogen is wearing specs all the way throughout.
Rogen’s had different pairs of glasses throughout the years, with multiple brands being represented in his movies. For example, Rogen was spotted wearing Ray-Ban glasses in the comedy “Neighbors”. The particular brands was the Ray-Ban RX5228, which have been among the favorites for glasses wearers over the past few years.
Depending on where you’re purchasing this pair of glasses, it can range from around $70 at discounted prices to just under $180 from the official Ray-Ban website. These glasses have rave reviews online, with more than 450 people on Google leaving solid enough reviews to give these glasses a fantastic 4.8 out of 5 score. Rogen prefers the black glasses, but the RX5228 has more than 20 different colors.
For the sequel to “Neighbors”, Rogen stuck with the Ray-Ban brand, opting for the RX5154. The price on these frames is a little higher at a range between $100 and $200, though these glasses have been just as positive among wearers. There aren’t as many colors with 14 total, but there are still plenty of options to choose from.
Other models of Ray-Ban glasses that Rogen has been spotted wearing include the RX6162 and the RX5225. These frames are around $200 and $100, respectively. It’s clear that there’s a particular style of glasses that Rogen likes, and the rectangular shapes that he’s sporting on most occasions are a big part of the Ray-Ban line of eyeglasses.
If you want to match Rogen’s nerdy yet dignified look, one frame that he’s been seen wearing that’s more affordable is the Savannah P2383 model. These black glasses only cost around $15 online, coming in several different colors. You can go with the vintage black like Rogen has, or opt for something a little more out there.
Rogen has shared photos of himself wearing new pairs of glasses on social media, but hasn’t really indulged what types of frames some of them are. Internet sleuths are always quick on the trail, though, as people want to get the same look that Rogen has for themselves. This includes his sunglasses that he’s also been seen in, with most of them being from the Ray-Ban line as well.
Ray-Ban has always been one of those brands of glasses that celebrities have gravitated toward, which has given the company a pretty big reputation for being hip. The company that started back in 1937 by Bausch & Lomb sells some of the most popular eyeglasses and sunglasses around, including the classic Wayfarers that Rogen himself has worn before, too.
In terms of Ray-Ban’s other popular glasses, you’ll find Clubmasters and Aviators. Ray-Ban has made a huge mark in the glasses world for having unisex glasses that have been popular with just about everybody. You have to pay a little more than other brands of glasses for the most part, but Ray-Bans have also developed a reputation for being quite durable and comfortable.
These days, it seems odd to not see Rogen in glasses as he’s become synonymous with a certain type of look. We’ve seen it in his recent films and all over social media, and it’s a look that definitely works for him. While not everyone can look better in glasses that some consider to be “nerdy,” Rogen definitely pulls them off well. And thanks to the internet detectives that can track down these certain types of glasses in a heartbeat, we can all aspire to have the same look.
